This page is the bird’s eye view of what we are concerned with our department. The department of Agronomy disseminates knowledge on crop production/husbandry, crop physiology, seed technology, weed science, nutrient management, irrigation water management, post harvest technology, farming systems, sustainable agriculture, organic agriculture, farm management, agronomic research etc. to the students of high ambitions.

It facilitates students with basic knowledge along with applied field and laboratory taught courses and researches on crop production in view of sustainable crop production under healthy environment. Besides this, emerging issues & future challenges of crop production are also addressed through this department for overcoming situation. It is also a house of knowledge through which natural resources like soil, water, sunlight etc. are accelerate scientifically synchronized to elevate agronomic crop yields for humankind in respect of being consumption & trade. For these we are sincerely engaged to build up students with high caliber so that they can serve nation to fulfil needs or can engage in agriculture and agribusiness. This long way journey of the department is being performed to produce human resources as a devoted agronomist. They can take leadership to sustain crop production, meet challenges, develop modern technologies on crop production, generate speed for the end users of the technologies, who may grow more food, feed, fiber, etc. for the country.

Students:

A total of 200 students completed their MS degree from this department. At present there are 50 MS students enrolled in this department. At present there are 00 candidates are continuing their Ph. D program.
